wearing buttons declaring trump the winner of saturday's first in the south primary. they're confident he'll come out on top. of course, trump has maintained a big lead in the polls leading up to saturday. and he continues to lead even as he's attacked by some of his opponents. after threatening legal action again senator ted cruz for defamation because of an unfavorable ad, today cruz punched back and laughed off trump's threat of a lawsuit, which he called a frivolous one. of course, jeb bush and others have been attacking trump too for his offensive style and coarse language. just this morning, trump had some harsh things to say about bush supporter senator lindsey graham, who he called "one of the dumbest human beings." but,

if he has anything to say about governor nikki haley too who's expected to endorse senator marco rubio tonight. live in sumter, chad mills, wis news 10. governor haley had previously made it clear she would not be endorsing donald trump for president. now we might find out whether her backing will help rubio---as he looks for momentum on saturday and beyond. jack kuenzie is live in the newsroom with more. charles, governor haley's popularity rating is one of the best among governors nationwide. results from the december winthrop poll put her at 81 per cent approval by likely gop voters. it was even better among those who link themselves to the tea party philosophy---84 per cent. and her approval had been actively sought by other candidates including jeb bush, who said just yesterday after a stop in columbia that haley's ok

burglary suspect. our mike desumma was in the courtroom today and joins us now from camden with more. judi, charles a judge is now considering whether to grant bond for jimmy methe. he's being held in jail for fatally shooting 17 year old brandon spencer. today dozens of methe's supporters asked the judge to grant him a low bond. kershaw county sheriff jim

also a friend of the defendant --- also asked that he be released on his own recognizance. matthews's office did of course bring these manslaughter charges against methe. investigators, are firm in their stance that methe had no legal right to fire on brandon spencer early saturday morning. authorities concluded that the 17 year old was running away from the defendant's property on norton drive when he was fatally shot from behind. spencer and another person allegedly took items out of methe's truck. his attorneys and neighbors say he had been the victim of several break ins in the past. coleman deas --- friend of jimmy methe "if they that close to his home stealing off of his equipment..what's to say they ain't coming back the next night and kicking his front door in and kill his family." jim matthews --- sheriff, kershaw county "i certainly support people protecting their lives inside their homes if they're in fear of great bodily harm or death.but my freedom is more precious than anything i own and i don't want to lose it because i overstepped my bounds and shot somebody when maybe i shouldn't." a judge is expected to make a
